MOBILE USDOT INSPECTIONS IN UTAH — WE COME TO YOU
DIGITAL REPORTS.
ON-SITE STICKERS.
DONE RIGHT.
A lot of mobile inspectors hand you a scribbled form and call it a report. We don't operate that way. We produce high-quality digital inspection reports — clear, detailed, and professional — formatted for your FMCSA compliance files rather than hastily filled out on a clipboard.
We also carry inspection stickers on-site. That means your annual sticker is issued at the time of inspection, before we leave. One appointment, one visit — documented and stickered.

Not a handwritten form — a thorough, professional digital report covering every inspection item. Clearly formatted and easy to file in your compliance records.
We carry inspection stickers with us. Your annual sticker is issued at the time of inspection — no outside processing, no waiting after we leave.
Digital reporting lets us be methodical and complete. Every item on the 49 CFR Part 396 checklist gets documented — nothing skipped, nothing illegible.
Your signed digital report is formatted for filing with your required 14-month record retention under 49 CFR § 396.21 — no handwriting to decipher.
The inspectors operating this service have personally serviced hundreds of commercial vehicles and fleet accounts across Utah — working independently. That direct, hands-on background across a wide range of CMV equipment is what this operation is built on. When we show up, you're getting someone with real-world experience on the equipment, not a clipboard and a checklist.
ANNUAL & 90-DAY
FEDERAL INSPECTIONS
USDOT Annual Inspection
Required for every CMV operating in interstate commerce — including pickups over 10,001 lbs GVWR, trucks over 26,001 lbs, and vehicles transporting hazardous materials.
A complete vehicle safety inspection covering brakes, lights, steering, tires, fuel system, coupling devices, and more. The inspector signs a report; the vehicle receives a dated inspection decal. Failure to maintain current annual inspection records is itself an FMCSA violation.
90-Day Inspection
Required for passenger-carrying CMVs and school buses under federal rules. Many Utah commercial fleet operators also use 90-day intervals as part of a carrier-mandated preventive maintenance program to stay ahead of FMCSA compliance requirements.
A systematic safety check performed on a 90-day cycle. Covers the same core systems as an annual inspection and satisfies carrier PM (preventive maintenance) program documentation requirements. Keeps your fleet ahead of violations before they become Out of Service orders.

WHAT'S COVERED IN EVERY INSPECTION
Our DOT inspections follow the federal criteria under 49 CFR Part 396 Appendix G — the same standard used by enforcement officers during roadside inspections.
Inspections are documented on a standardized report signed by the inspector. Copies are provided for your compliance records. Required retention: 14 months per 49 CFR § 396.21.

We Come to Your Location
No towing, no driving a questionable vehicle to a shop. We perform the inspection at your yard, lot, or job site anywhere in Utah.
Minimize Downtime
Vehicles stay on your property. We schedule around your operation — not the other way around. Fleet operators can batch multiple vehicles in a single visit.
Digital Inspection Reports
We produce high-quality digital reports — not scribbled forms. Clear, professional documentation formatted for your FMCSA compliance files.
Inspection Stickers Carried On-Site
We carry inspection stickers with us. Your annual sticker is issued at the time of inspection — before we leave your location.
OPERATING WITHOUT A CURRENT ANNUAL INSPECTION IS AN FMCSA VIOLATION
Under 49 CFR § 396.17, every commercial motor vehicle must be inspected at least once every 12 months. Operating a CMV without a current, on-file annual inspection report is itself a violation — independent of whether the vehicle has any defects.
Roadside inspectors can ask to see your annual inspection record. If you can't produce one, or if it's expired, your vehicle can be placed Out of Service on the spot.

Who is required to have a USDOT annual inspection in Utah?
Any commercial motor vehicle (CMV) operating under USDOT authority in interstate commerce must have a current federal annual inspection on file under 49 CFR § 396.17. This includes vehicles with a GVWR over 10,001 lbs used for business, pickup/trailer combinations with a combined GVWR over 10,001 lbs, and vehicles transporting hazardous materials requiring placards. Note: this is a federal USDOT inspection — not a state vehicle safety inspection.
Do you inspect semi-trucks and air brake trailers?
Yes. We inspect semi-trucks (Class 8 tractors), air brake trailers, and all other commercial motor vehicles requiring a USDOT annual inspection. If it needs a 396.17 annual inspection sticker, we can do it — on-site at your yard or lot.
Does a trailer need to be hooked up to a truck for the inspection?
Yes. We require all trailers to be connected to the tow unit at the time of inspection. We inspect the full combination — tractor or truck plus trailer — as it operates on the road. Standalone trailer inspections are not offered; the tow vehicle must be on-site and hooked up.
What happens if my vehicle fails the inspection?
We document all defects on the inspection report with clear descriptions. Vehicles with critical safety defects should not operate until repaired. Your signed report will detail exactly what was found so you can get the necessary repairs scheduled.
Does the annual inspection sticker expire if I change something on the vehicle?
The annual inspection decal reflects the condition of the vehicle at the time of inspection. If you perform repairs or modifications after inspection, you should document them in your maintenance records. Certain significant repairs may warrant a re-inspection. Your inspection records must be retained for at least 14 months under FMCSA 49 CFR Part 396.21.
Can you inspect multiple vehicles in one visit?
Yes. Fleet operators with multiple vehicles benefit most from our mobile service — we come to your yard and work through your fleet in a single scheduled visit. Contact us to discuss fleet inspection scheduling and pricing.
What areas of Utah do you serve?
We serve fleet operators across Utah, including the Wasatch Front, Utah Valley, and surrounding areas. Call or email to confirm service availability at your specific location.
